Smith Drums

Dave is a proud endorser of Smith Drums, a hi-end custom drum company from Bridgeport, CT.
Dave's Smith kit was custom built per Dave's specs and finished in "Elf Green" metallic laquer.

Dave's kit consists of a single kick drum (with double-kick pedals) and either three-toms or four-toms, depending on the situation.

Dave pulls from his large collection of snare drums, all 6.5" deep, 14" diameter - vintage Supraphonics, MDK custom maples, assorted steel, brass, bronze, etc. Dave is also fond of marching snare drums and has quite a few in the collection as well.

Dave's Six & Violence "Stand-Up" Drum Kit

  • 12" "see-through" tom filled with small lights
  • 14" "funnel shell" tom which spews smoke
  • 16" x 16" floor tom
  • Snare: 6.5" X 14"
  • Cymbals:  NONE
  • Kick Drum:  NONE

Dave plays this drumkit while standing. The 16" floor tom essentially serves as the "bass-drum". Cymbal duties are handled by a separate cymbal player who has his own cymbal kit (see below).

The 14" North drum spews smoke via a custom built smoke-hose system connected to a remote smoke machine. The smoke machine is controlled by a small foot-switch under the drums.
